Well, March has been an absolutely gorgeous month. Of course, we had our holiday right in the middle of the month, which was glorious, but we’ve also had Easter at the end. We had a lovely time with Tim’s family on Easter Sunday, but the whole long weekend was really relaxed.
I feel like I’ve had a bit more time to myself this month as I went to the Captivated North conference. This is a Christian Mum’s conference, and, although I took Samuel, I felt like I had a real chance to focus on my own relationship with God, which I don’t often get at the moment. I’ve also – shock horror – been out running a couple of times recently. I’ve also had some brilliant news about work, which I’ll save for another post.
Tim has been building a patio in the garden. Even though we have a pizza oven, we don’t really have anywhere we can sit down at a table. So he’s been digging up a stretch of lawn and there are a lot of paving slabs are in the garage. Watch this space…
Ben has been discovering the joys of both Lego and Hot Wheels, and a part of me that is dreading Samuel learning to pick things up, as Ben’s toys seem to betting smaller and smaller! He had an absolute blast on holiday, and would have happily spent hours on the beach playing football and cricket. He is loving the balance between being at home and at preschool so much,
Samuel’s personality is starting to come out even more. He’s a happy soul, and generally quite relaxed until about 5pm, when he becomes increasingly fractious, but that’s pretty typical. He loves being tickled, and frequently giggles so much he gets hiccups.
I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying this maternity leave. It is just so lovely to at home with the children, and seeing them grow. I’ve still got 5 months to go, and I’m determined to enjoy it as much as I can. One of the things I’m really enjoying is being able to blog more consistently, and my readership has been increasing steadily. So I want to thank you for supporting me in this.
Here’s our family photo. Taken on a beach near Scarborough, we’d been running around and chasing each other, it was freezing cold and we’re all pretty wrapped up, but very, very happy.
