The Great Blog On Icebreaker

  1. On Sunday, I’ll be leaving the boys with Tim and heading off to Manchester for Blog On MSI 2016. I attended this blogging conference two years ago and really enjoyed it.
  2. I don’t know many other bloggers in real life, so I’m taking part in the Icebreaker linky – hopefully some will come and say hello.
  3. Share a recent picture of you
  4. Blog On
  5. This is a selfie I took at the weekend. In the original, I’m holding my new baby niece!
  6. If you had to describe yourself in three words…
  7. Busy, cheerful and exhausted.
  8. How long have you been blogging and what made you start?
  9. Since February 2013, so just over 3 years. I wanted to record our lives together, share what I had learned since having a baby and record recipes.
  10. What was your favourite TV program as a child?
  11. I was TV-obsessed! I loved the Sunday night dramas of the 1980s, especially The Chronicles of Narnia. If you’ve forgotten them, this might jog your memory:
  12. Narnia1
  13. Something interesting you might not know about me is . . .
  14. I’ve worked for royalty. That’s all I’m saying about that.
  15. What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten?
  16. Probably some kind of offal: heart, I think.
  17. What was your biggest fashion faux pas?
  18. Oh, too many to count! The see-through t-shirts I used to wear with a black bra underneath as an older teenager stand out – I was really classy!
  19. What are your pet peeves?
  20. Poor punctuation and grammar in published articles. Middle lane hoggers. Steve Wright in the afternoon.
  21. Who would be your 3 perfect dinner party guests (dead or alive) and why?
  22. William Shakespeare – I think he was a genius. Marilyn Monroe – she still fascinates people even though she wasn’t an amazing actress and died many years ago. Jesus – well, why wouldn’t you?!
  23. If they made a movie of your life, what would it be about and which actor would play the part of you?
  24. Hopefully it will be of the future me who will revolutionise the education system, while writing a successful blog. I’ve always thought Kate Hudson would be a good me.
  25. If you could live in any sitcom, which one would it be?
  26. Does it have to be a sitcom? I quite liked How I Met Your Mother. But in all honesty, I’d rather live in the Harry Potter films.
  27. Name a famous person you have met
  28. I once shared a lift with Wes Brown (Manchester United footballer). I didn’t know who he was as I’m not a football fan, and I’d had a few drinks, so I asked him his name, so I could tell the kids at school that I’d met him. He was very nice.
  29. Which social media platform best describes your personality and why?
  30. Probably Pinterest – I’m all about the ideas!
  31. What picture do you have on lock screen on your phone / computer?IMG_6488
  32. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
  33. In total – probably 14. I actually wear 2 pairs.
  34. What period of time from the past would you most like to have lived?
  35. I’m actually really glad I live now, when women are fairly treated, and we have the opportunity to study and have a career. However, I do think I would have been quite good in the 1940s!
  36. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  37. To see the Northern Lights.
  38. What is your guilty pleasure?
  39. Eating a LOT of biscuits in one go.
  40. What is your favourite tipple?
  41. Gin and Tonic.
  42. If you had a magic lamp and a Genie, what would be your three wishes?
  43. 1. World Peace
  44. 2. Equal distribution of wealth across the world
  45. 3. Calorie free chocolate
