Spring Meal Plans Week 3 | Life by NaomiThis post is a little bit later than usual as we’ve been away on holiday for a week. Being somewhat distracted when I made the booking (I think it was on Boxing Day), I didn’t check that the house we booked had wifi. So we’ve had a bit of an enforced Internet-limited week. It was probably good for us.

Anyway, it has meant that I have loads of ideas for the blog, and helping you all get more organised.

Here is the third week of the meal plans, recipes and shopping lists. I confess that I haven’t actually trialled this week, as we’ve been away, but I think it’s ok, and I will definitely trial it in the next few weeks to make sure it’s all there. This week, you’re starting to use some of the meals we froze in the first two weeks, so it’s a bit cheaper. I have also got a ‘storecupboard’ list planned, so you can see the kinds of things I like to have in all the time.

Fish Stew – Hairy Bikers Gorgeous Fish Stew with Garlic Croutons
Apple Crumble
Spinach and Feta Filo Pie
Butter chicken curry


Meat and Fish:

  • 8 x Bacon Rashers
  • 4 x Sausages
  • 400g fish fillet
  • 200g king prawns
  • 1 chicken
  • 2 pizzas
  • Depending on size of roast chicken, you may need chicken breasts for Chicken Butter Curry

Fruit and Vegetables:

  • Celery
  • Bag of potatoes
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 150g fine green beans
  • Flat leaf parsley
  • Carrots
  • Purple sprouting broccoli
  • 4 Bramley Apples
  • 1 pack mushrooms
  • Jacket potatoes
  • Leeks
  • 1 pack baby spinach
  • Tomatoes – cherry and normal

Dairy and Bakery:

  • 12 Eggs
  • 1 small tub cream cheese
  • Feta cheese
  • 50g cheddar cheese
  • Milk
  • Ciabatta bread
  • Bagels
  • Bread
  • Fresh soup
  • 1 pack filo pastry
  • 100g pinenuts


  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Ground coriander
  • Saffron threads
  • Bay leaves
  • White wine
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • Tomato puree
  • Fish stock cube
  • Parmesan
  • Mayonnaise
  • Plain flour
  • Caster Sugar
